Understanding Color with Leslie Lienau
A practical guide to color mixing Ages 12 & up All levels “Why do I keep making mud when I paint?” If you have ever asked yourself that question, I have an answer for you! Mixing colors can be a challenging experience and in this course, you will learn practical, consistent, logical, and repeatable mixing strategies. We will start with the basics of color theory, and while we’re at it we will learn to understand the working properties of our preferred medium. When those are out of the way we will paint simple subjects designed to help build our mixing skills. This course is packed with information about painting best practices as well. Each time we meet we will have a new challenge and by the last class the mystery of mixing will disappear, and your understanding of color mixing (and avoiding mud) will be solved!

Note: This course is open to wet mediums including oils, acrylic, watercolor and gouache.

Quinacridone Red
Cadmium Orange
