Create Handmade Paper made from Upcycled and Repurposed Materials
With Claire Barrow
Friday and Saturday / April 11th & 12 / 11am – 2pm
Course Description:
Discover the fundamentals of crafting your own handmade paper using upcycled and repurposed materials. In this hands-on workshop, I will guide you through the process of making paper pulp and demonstrate how to use a 4×6 deckle frame to form your own custom sheets of paper.
You’ll also learn how to incorporate unique elements into the pulp to design creative and personalized patterns. The techniques covered in this workshop can be applied to all forms of handmade paper crafting—your imagination is the only limit!
I will provide all necessary materials to create your first set of 4×6 handmade paper.
Day 1: We’ll cover the basics of paper making, and you’ll create at least four 4×6 sheets of handmade paper.
Day 2: We’ll remove the paper from the fabric, and you’ll have the opportunity to add decorative touches to your creations.
If time allows on Day 2, participants can make an additional set of 4×6 sheets, which will need to dry at home.
